Rulebook

Version 2026.07

01. General Guidelines
  • Footibia is a Tibia football fansite founded by players of the Tibia community. There is no official relationship between the project organizers and CipSoft.
  • This rulebook only regulates the Footibia Major League (FML), the main league of Footibia. For rules of other tourneys, please visit the Events page.
  • Staff members, referees and supporters are ineligible to compete as players in the Footibia Major League.
02. League Structure
  • The Footibia Major League (FML) is a football league with annual seasons.
  • To qualify, a team must be registered and have at least 2 recruited players during the league’s regular season.
  • Qualified teams and league history are available on the Events page.
  • The league consists of two phases: monthly matchdays in a regular season format, followed by knockout playoffs featuring the top four teams.
  • During the regular season, teams play one game per matchday, held monthly, competing for points to advance to the next phase.
  • In the knockout playoffs, the semifinals pit the first-place team against the fourth-place team, and the second-place team against the third-place team. The winners then compete in the final, while the remaining teams play for third place.
03. Teams
  • Each team will be represented by 1 team owner.
  • At the time of team application, the team owner must belong to a guild founded at least 1 year ago or hold at least the Warden loyalty title.
  • Each team consists of 2 main players and up to 3 optional reserves, for a total of 5 members maximum.
  • Teams must have two uniform patterns using the Citizen outfit. Only players’ hair and boots may be customized; shirts and pants require the same team colors for all members. The Jersey outfit will be allowed when made available by CipSoft.
  • Matters regarding team configuration and match scheduling will be dealt with directly by a staff member with the team owner.
  • To found a team, the team owner must use the form on the Team Application page or contact a staff member directly.
  • The submitted form will be analyzed by Footibia staff members, and the team owner will be contacted by Discord or in-game.
  • Attention! Footibia staff members will never request your account data or personal information. All communication occurs in-game or via Discord.
04. Players
  • After the team owner receives confirmation of team foundation, a dedicated character must be created for each team player on the Zunera world, named “Team Name + Player Name”.

    For example: Galactics Thomas
    Galactics is the Team Name.
Thomas is the nickname chosen by the player.

  • Players must be level 8 and reside in Thais.
  • While players are not confirmed, the team’s lineup will show “Currently in recruitment” status.
05. Schedule
  • The regular season matchdays will always take place on the last Sunday of each month through June.
  • The knockout playoffs will take place on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
  • By default, all official league matches take place on Sundays at 21:00 CET / CEST (11 hours after the server save).
06. Matches
  • During the regular season, matches use a waiting list.
  • At least two players from the team must be present to join the waiting list.
  • A dice roll decides who plays first: one player per team rolls, highest goes first.
  • If the number of teams present at the first match is odd, a “Late Team” slot is added to the list.
  • If the Late Team fails to arrive by the end of the last match, the opposing team wins by walkover (W.O.).
  • Each match continues until one team scores 6 goals.
  • One player from each team rolls a die to decide their starting side of the field. The player who rolls the highest number decides the starting side.
  • Before starting the match, players must position themselves as instructed by the referee.
  • At the referee’s “Goal” or “Stop” signal, players must return the ball to the referee.
  • A break occurs when either team scores 3 goals, after which teams switch sides.
  • Reserve player substitutions may occur at halftime or between goals. To substitute, any team player must signal the referee before the round starts.
  • In the event of a goal dispute, the player must request a review from the referee immediately after the incident. The referee will then review the round’s footage to determine if the goal is valid or if the round must be restarted.
  • Each goal earns 1 point during the regular season. So, for each match won, the winning team will earn 6 points.
  • Teams winning by W.O. receive all 6 match points.
  • In case of a W.O., as a courtesy and to ensure the last present team plays, any available team may volunteer for a friendly match. This does not count toward official league points.
07. Technical Specifications
  • The football field must measure 8 sqm x 13 sqm.
  • To ensure players from different regions don’t exceed 200ms ping latency, official matches must be hosted on a North American server. The experimental game world Zunera was chosen to host Footibia Major League official matches.
  • Each player can test their ping before matches by pressing ALT + F8 in the Tibia client. If anyone experiences latency issues, the team owner can call up reserve players for the match.
  • Players will be inspected before matches and must be level 8 (speed 117) to play.
  • Items, spells, or other factors that alter player speed are not allowed.
  • The stadium is located at Thais Hostel, Harbour Street, Thais – Zunera.
08. Rulebook Updates
  • This rulebook is frequently updated according to the protocol below:
  • Version Numbering: A version labeled “2023.11” corresponds to the November 2023 edition.
  • Annual Updates: These represent the most significant changes and may involve modifications to the league structure, team rules, and match regulations. These updates are widely publicized on Footibia’s social media.
  • Monthly Updates: These focus on correcting grammatical errors, clarifying ambiguities, or adjusting minor details that do not affect the core league structure.
09. Card Collection
  • Our community features an annually updated card collection. Players and partners can receive custom card artwork to expand our collection.
  • Some special cards may be added for top league teams. Champion teams receive a rare card that will be added to that season’s collection.
  • Player card points are updated annually but reflect positions achieved through the previous season.
10. Rewards
  • For each edition of the event, the organizers may give gifts to the finalist teams and partners involved in the season.
  • If the team finishes the season in the top 4 ranking, it will receive an exclusive anthem produced by the Footibia staff. Alternatively, the team owner may create their own anthem.
  • League winners are rewarded with a golden goblet in their main world (featuring a staff message) and official community recognition.
